Home Care after Surgery
These days, people are discharged from hospitals very quickly after surgery. These patients may need physical assistance and in-home support while they recover. It may no longer easy to move in and out of bed, use the bathroom, reach high kitchen cupboards, or drive. Patients also may have exercises to do and medications to take—but if medicated, they may feel drowsy or unfocused.
We can contribute to a safe and supportive healing environment, with attentive care to help speed up your recovery process. It’s our goal to help you avoid any readmissions to the hospital due to complications.
Nursing homes: In many instances upon discharge from the hospital, patients are faced with being sent to a nursing home or rehabilitation facility until they are strong enough to live at home. We can cover the home demands while you are there—such as pet care and mail delivery. Or, having us in your home may help you avoid that stay altogether.
Facilitating surgery: If you are considering surgery, such as a hip or knee replacement, often the surgeon won’t operate unless you can guarantee that someone will stay with you at home. We’ll be that Health Hub team working with your doctor to support you with daily routines and your care plan.
